We have all-purpose 65 liter backpacks and used backpacks that are female specific. While you can’t go wrong with any of these hiking packs, there are a couple of notable differences between the Deuter series and the Mountainsmith series. The Deuter backpacks are top-load only with a separate sleeping bag compartment and weigh a little lighter than the Mountainsmith packs. The Mountainsmith backpacks are top-load and with a u-shape zipper for duffel access. These packs also have a detachable daypack perfect for summit hikes or around town.
