With over 35% of the state allowing public access (think of National Forests, National Parks, State Lands, Bureau of Land Management), we have the ability to virtually camp 24/7 for little or no cost.

Federal Lands in Colorado  Use this map to learn about the recreation opportunities within all of the National Forests, Wilderness, BLM and other lands controlled by the federal government. Easy to use and a great resource.

Colorado State Parks  Colorado has an excellent state park system. Learn about things to do and where to camp within the state park system.

Recreation.gov  This website is the reservation system for all National Parks and virtually all National Forest campgrounds requiring reservations.

Colorado is experiencing a significant drought and fire restrictions are in place throughout the state with numerous wildfires already affecting many areas. Please be mindful of these restrictions and understand that you are responsible for knowing what restrictions are in place while you camp.  Use the Colorado Office of Emergency Management as a resource to learn what restrictions may impact you while camping in Colorado.
