A Customer’s Tale From the Oregon Coast Trail.

Our Three Person Backpacking Kit Gets Some Beach Time in Oregon

Three Person Backpacking Kit Rental

At Mountain Side Gear Rental, we live vicariously through our customers amazing adventures and this one is no exception. Phil and two friends hit the OCT and make the rest of envious…

It was late fall, freezing in CO and I was itching for a
trip that involved a campfire and filled with stars. Obviously, I could brave the harsh cold in the
Rockies, but I was craving something warmer and new. I decided to round up a few friends and
planned a trip to the Oregon coast. I
wanted to streamline this trip and make it as simple as possible, so I utilized
the amazing service provided by Mountain Side Gear Rental.

After arriving in Portland, all the gear we picked online met
us there. I was worried I would miss
some of the gear I am accustomed to, but that concern was gone the second I
opened the box. The “backpacking”
package we ordered included; Backpack, sleeping bag, stove…everything, was all
top of the line and we were stoked to hit the trail. After grabbing some food and fuel, packed our
gear and set course for Cannon Beach… it was on.

We reached the trailhead and headed out to camp near the beautiful
view of the Tillamook Lighthouse. The
pack was light, comfortable and easily adjusted to protect my gear when we ran
into some rain (thank goodness for the rain cover!). After a beautiful hike,
we found our campsite. The tents were
quick to set up and it was time to kick our feet up by a fire. The stove was perfect for providing safe
water from a nearby stream and cooked our food in a matter of minutes. After some fun stories and taking in the
beautiful atmosphere, it was time to get some rest. The tent, air mattress and bag
provided a great night’s rest. I awoke
dry, rested and ready to head back. After another beautiful hike back, we traveled back to Portland to catch
a flight home. Packed the gear back into
the box we received the gear in, put on the pre-printed return label and
dropped it off. Was it really that
easy?Yeah, it was… and now we have the
memories for a lifetime. Only thing to
say, where to next??

See you on the trail!
